Feeding the Hungry … Musically !

The night of December 20th 2019 was a very special one for my wife and myself. It was the embodiment of a collaborative community effort to help the less fortunate ones in our city. And what a better way than music-for-a-cause to usher in the holidays? None, in my view.

Giving back to the community that helped me and my family settle down, and start a new life in a new home, is not a payback but rather a paying-it-forward kind of thing. Giving back is what Windsor did … big time … last Friday … something I was fortunate enough to witness for the second time and be a part of.

When two major institutes, St. Clair College and Caesars Windsor, came together, the result was a community Christmas concert presented by the S’Aints. A band of multi-talented musicians who entertained the crowds with Christmas favorite tunes and some of their original works as well.

Since 2013 I believe, the band has raised nearly $270,000 in total to feed the hungry. The Proceeds from this year’s concert tickets and an accompanying holiday CD will benefit 16 local food banks and will remain in the community.
